Position Overview

Edward

D. Jones & Co, L.P. (“Edward Jones”) is seeking a Fund Administration Analyst for our Proprietary Funds Accounting Oversight (“PFAO”) team, whose primary goal is to provide oversight of the Bridge Builder Trust mutual funds and Edward Jones Money Market Fund. As a member of the PFAO team, you will interact with multiple internal asset management teams and external service providers, and stakeholders across Edward Jones.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily oversight of the net asset value (“NAVs”) of the funds.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers to gather necessary information to validate the funds' performance, books, and records.
  • Investigate and resolve variances in fund accounting records and respond to financial reporting inquiries.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards and regulatory changes that may impact fund accounting and registered investment company's practices.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the fund accounting function.
  • Assist in risk identification and mitigation, researching complex mutual fund matters and contributing to project success.
  • Support key service provider oversight and management – including operational, transfer agent, custody partners and investment sub-advisers.
  • Managing and communicating investment guideline breaches and/or changes to the sub-advisers and service providers.
  • Monitoring of the investment guidelines communications from model providers, sub-advisers, internal stakeholders and service providers.
  • Oversight of the power of attorney process. Complete and/or update power of attorney documents for markets, as required. Coordination between sub-adviser's and service providers.
  • Oversight of the market opening process. Complete and/or update market opening paperwork for new markets, as required. Coordination between sub-adviser's and service providers.
  • Apply valuation methodologies daily for various investments within the funds in line with Olive Street Investment Adviser’s (the “Adviser”) valuation policy and procedures.
  • Ad hoc reporting and projects to support Adviser responsibilities as adviser to the funds.
  • Assist senior level team members with additional routine and more senior tasks and assignments (i.e., data management, new sub-adviser onboarding, building workflows, new product launches, and regulatory initiatives, etc.).
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of related experience in the asset management industry focusing on fund accounting oversight and valuation for mutual funds.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent education and experience, MBA, CFA and/or CPA designation preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of mutual fund processes – Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States of America (“GAAP”), trading, fund accounting, administration, security valuation, audits, compliance, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to create presentations and reports.
  • Organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a group or independently, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the investment management industry, understanding of investment concepts, practices, and processes used in the investment industry, specifically mutual funds.
  • Series 7 & 66 licenses.
  • Working knowledge, understanding and experience with the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended, Securities and Exchange Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and GAAP guidance for investment companies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, scale, and resilience of our operating model.
  • Comfortable working across multiple functions, geographies and partners with maturity and judgement.
  • Work in ambiguous and overly complex situations, create clarity, demonstrate sound judgement, and drive towards effective outcomes.
  • Work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines in a very time-sensitive environment.
