Account Manager, Commercial Banking

The Account Manager is responsible for coordinating account administration for commercial banking clients, including recordkeeping, reporting, client and Relationship Manager inquiries, and transaction processing.

This role resolves operational and processing issues, supports daily client activity, obtains required documentation, and partners with internal teams to ensure account information is accurate and service requests are completed timely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates account administration for commercial banking clients.
  • Receives service requests from clients and partners; executes daily client activity, oversees transaction processing, handles inquiry resolution, obtains required documentation, and ensures system information is up to date.
  • Develops action plans for client activities and ensures execution and follow up.
  • Coordinates with the servicing team on client activity and communicates with clients and Relationship Managers as appropriate.
  • Ensures accurate setup of fees and balances.
  • Documents services provided, specialized procedures, and ongoing written communications with clients and Relationship Managers.
  • Develops a clear understanding of the client need behind service requests and communicates with service partners to support changes or transactions.
  • Identifies service efficiency enhancements, process improvements, and opportunities to improve service delivery.
  • Monitors banking operations and accounting activity to ensure reports, documents, tickets, and related items are processed to support client service.
  • Communicates regularly with clients and Relationship Managers regarding account setup, status, document requests, and other updates.
  • Researches client records, contracts, agreements, and related materials to respond to inquiries and ensure appropriate setup.
  • Manages and generates reports for short margin and sensitive client reporting.
  • Manages and generates reports for client collateral positions where Northern Trust is collateral agent.
  • Monitors, manages, stores, and generates reports for periodic and legal documentation deficiencies.
  • Maintains working knowledge of syndicated loan transactions, loan and credit agreements, financial statements, and documentation required to monitor client relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience supporting clients, account servicing, or transaction processing in a financial services environment.
  • Experience with Credit Master.
  • Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Ability to analyze issues, exercise sound judgment, and resolve problems effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate multiple systems, and work accurately in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, adaptability, and commitment to quality.

Hybrid role:
Candidate will be expected to work in the office 60% of available business days each month and may be asked to maintain flexibility with start and end times as needed based on workload demands.

Salary Range: $58,425 - 93,385 USD
