Role Description
The Civil Servant role at Topstep is a full-time, on-site position based in Tempe, AZ, focused on supporting the organization’s engagement with local government and public sector stakeholders. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing municipal and regional policy developments, preparing clear summaries and briefings, and supporting internal teams with insight into relevant regulations and public programs. The role involves maintaining productive relationships with government offices, coordinating participation in public meetings or consultations, and ensuring that Topstep’s activities align with local requirements and community expectations.
The Civil Servant will collaborate across departments to communicate policy impacts, contribute to reports and documentation, and promote transparent, responsible practices in line with Topstep’s values. This position requires consistent on-site collaboration with colleagues and external partners.
- Demonstrated experience in government relations and working with local government or public sector entities.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, present information concisely, and engage confidently with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient analytical skills to review policies, interpret regulations, and provide actionable insights for internal decision-making.
- Understanding of public sector processes, including local governance structures, regulatory frameworks, and community engagement practices.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with government officials, community organizations, and internal teams.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory public service.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience in a civil service, regulatory, or policy-focused role is preferred; familiarity with financial services or trading environments is a plus.
- Comfort working on-site in Tempe, AZ, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving regulatory and community needs.
