Overview
The Westin Tempe is looking for PT Banquet Houseperson to join our amazing Banquet Team. Hours/Shifts - PM - availability - Monday - Friday - including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities- A Banquet Houseperson takes part in servicing our food and beverages to our guests around our rooftop pool and cabanas. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner resulting in an extremely high level of guest satisfaction. - A Banquet Houseperson is responsible for the setup, breakdown, and servicing of all meeting rooms and spaces.
Skills And Abilities
- Must have the ability to communicate in English.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Knowledge of various types of equipment and setup styles used in the meeting rooms (e.g., different table types such as round, schoolroom, etc.).
- Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 100 lbs. through a crowded room. This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room setup and breakdown.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs.

- Work Habits: Meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance. Be adaptable to change, willing to learn new skills, and able to solve routine problems. Ask for help when unsure how to proceed.
- Safety & Security: Adhere to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and reporting safety hazards and concerns.
