Regulatory Compliance Specialist, HR Generalist / Talent Management, HR Manager
Sundt Construction, a 100% employee owned company, based in Tempe, AZ is looking add a Compensation Professional for seasonal project work. Long term employment may be considered upon review. Reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, the role assists in the design, development, implementation, and overall administration of the Company's compensation incentive pay programs. This role will partner with Business Leaders to ensure all compensation platforms (merit planning and bonus structures) are in alignment with the Company's business goals while ensuring our compensation practices continue to attract the very best talent within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities- Serves as a business partner to leadership at various levels within the company by providing insight on the company's compensation methodology, educating leaders on how to use compensation as a tool, and ensuring standardized practices are being used
- Analyzes and interprets compensation data and utilizes it to conduct competitive analysis; analyzes data to identify trends, potential issues, areas for improvement, to ensure plans are competitive and cost-effective
- Applies knowledge of statutory/regulatory requirements, regional needs and multi state practices to determine competitiveness of the rewards to offer
- Compensation evaluation and analysis (e.g., job analysis, evaluation and classification, survey participation, policy, and benefits benchmark and review)
- Designs compensation and variable pay strategies including salary administration planning and incentive pay
- Develops strategic communications (e.g., guidance and compensation program features, plans, and options)
- Directs data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies
- Ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to current compensation strategy
- Ensures job architecture is comprehensive and reflective of the business roles; partners with Talent Development as needed
- Manages common compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives
- Responsible for compensation plan management (e.g., changes to base pay, short-term and long-term incentives, allowances, deferred compensation, stock appreciation, etc.)
- Responsible for development and delivery of compensation training programs for supervisors/managers, and New Hire Orientation
- Professionally collaborates with various departments to ensure that the compensation structure aligns with company's strategic goals and supports talent acquisition, retention and engagement
- Stay informed about compensation trends, market benchmarks, and legal requirements to ensure competitive and compliance compensation practices
- Partner with HR and Legal to conduct regular audits of compensation practices
* A bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics is preferred
* At least seven (7) years of related compensation design and administration experience
* At least three (3) years of Construction or Heavy Equipment/Machinery or Civil Engineering industry experience, preferred
* Applicable salary administration planning software experience
* Must be highly proficient in MS Excel including dashboard setup and design, advance formulas with power query experience and VBA expertise
* Power BI highly preferred
* Demonstrated knowledge of salary administration planning including executive pay (short and long term incentives) and internal equity analysis
* CCP certification highly preferred
* Ability to professionally partner with key stakeholders to ensure compensation structure aligns with strategic goals
* High attention to detail and accuracy in managing compensation data and documentation
