The data services team supports applications using SQL Server and other data platforms to meet firm needs. This role focuses on database server configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, onboarding, and open systems database platforms to ensure availability and address issues promptly.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, implement, document, and support applications using SQL Server databases.
- Ensure acceptable database availability and performance by diagnosing and resolving problems, proactive monitoring, and tuning.
- Provide technical leadership, advice, and mentoring to DBAs, application developers, project leaders, and business users。
- Research emerging database technologies and trends to inform future technology direction.
- Design logical and physical large, complex, business‑critical databases based on business requirements.
- Ensure compliance with audit, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide DBA support for complex software installation and maintenance, including major upgrades.
- Evaluate and recommend software and hardware solutions, gathering stakeholder opinions and reaching consensus.
- Commit to protecting the integrity, security, and privacy of critical business data.
- Promote data quality and enforce data integrity.
- Participate in on‑call rotation approximately every five weeks, Tuesday‑to‑Tuesday, 9:00 a.m.‑9:00 p.m. CT.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience administering SQL Server 2016 or newer in production environments.
- Demonstrated SQL Server DBA expertise, including managed instance and cloud database platforms (Azure and/or AWS).
- 5+ years of experience with database administration tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, Power Shell, Toad, SQL Developer, Foglight, and ERWIN Data Modeler.
- Experience implementing and supporting replication technologies including Always On Availability Groups, mirroring, log shipping, and transactional replication.
- 5+ years of experience across multiple platforms:
Linux, Windows, T‑SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning, data modeling, ASM, SDLC. - Solid knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and Power Shell scripting for automation of routine database tasks.
- Exposure to No
SQL databases (e.g., Mongo
DB), DBaaS, cloud‑native services, and Dev Ops practices/tools (e.g., Jira) is a plus.
For eligible candidates living within commuting distance of our Tempe, AZ or St. Louis, MO office, on‑site work is required four days per week starting 1 June 2026. Prior to that date, on‑site work is required three days per week, preferably Tuesday through Thursday. Home‑based associates may retain status if selected.
CompensationHiring Minimum: $86,300
Hiring Maximum: $146,700
