THE ROLE Our Video Distribution Engineer I builds and maintains cutting-edge compression and digital distribution platforms for one of the premier national broadcasters.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES General Responsibilities Embrace a culture of continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies - Be motivated as part of a high performing team and delivering high quality products - Enjoy learning from and mentoring others - Build strong analytical, reasoning, and technical troubleshooting skills. Gain and maintain knowledge of major satellite and fiber distribution systems and the vendors that supply them.

Work various shifts as part of a 24/7 coverage team and obtain the ability to translate business and operation requirements into technical requirements.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Engineering & Support Acts as Tier 1 support for all on-air broadcast systems.

Follows standard operating procedures and documentation to support the operations team in a 24/7 environment.

Regular on-site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 4 days per week is an essential function of the position. Selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.

Builds and maintains FOX’s compression & transport infrastructure

Conducts lab, performance and system tests and prototype efforts that can continually evolve FOX’s architecture and infrastructure

Collaboration & Partnerships Supports the Media Control Center in day-to-day operations and assist users with technical issues or concerns

Partners with the Engineering and Standards & Advanced Technology teams to develop groundbreaking technology solutions for challenging business issues

Collaborates with engineering teams, operations teams, and third-party vendors to develop long term strategy, product development and implementation road maps Performance Improvement Knows data is critical to making informed business decisions and uses it to understand and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your already amazing team's performance
