Information Technology (IT) professional with overall responsibility to deliver expected outcomes for information technology projects.
Familiarity with hardware, software, networks, infrastructure, integrations, information management, data, desktop computing, operational technology, and cyber security is vital to their role.
Applies IT methodologies, concepts, and platforms, including System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Waterfall and Agile Development, Cloud Computing, ITIL, and complex IT architectures, in order to deliver successful outcomes. Identifies and recruits people with varied IT expertise to form cohesive teams focused on a shared vision and clarity of purpose. Utilizes tools, approaches, and concepts from multiple disciplines including project management, team facilitation, vendor management, stakeholder management, organizational change management, and consulting in order to identify, define, and deliver IT solutions to business challenges.
Develops business acumen to aid in decision making and risk mitigation during IT projects. Understands partnership and dependencies of operational technology (OT) with information technology (IT) and contributes to OT/IT objectives. Influences and motivates others to create a sense of urgency. Provides leadership to deliver business value through IT solutions to business problems, challenges, and advancements.
What You'll Do- Lead teams of IT professionals to develop and deliver complex IT solutions to the enterprise as a whole or to a specific business area.
- Work collaboratively with IT development teams, IT infrastructure teams, technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), application owners and administrators, IT architects, Information Management professionals, data scientists, IT professional services, IT vendors, Cyber Security, OT/IT partners, and business SMEs to complete complex technical projects.
- Identify and communicate risks to project success and prepare probability analysis and plans for mitigating risks that occur. Participate with the team and vendors in identifying and mitigating potential technical problems and roadblocks. Leverage technical skills and knowledge of systems and applications to identify and resolve technical issues on the project.
- Consider benefits of Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, or other approaches to each unique project and apply development and project management principles and tools effectively using the selected approach.
- Utilize expertise on the team to prepare breakdown of work, anticipated task durations, dependencies among tasks and milestones, and overall project plan and schedule. Validate estimates and contingencies based on multiple inputs, experience from past projects, and judgement.
- Follow agreed‑upon IT project execution methodology and reporting requirements, and target defined metrics for scope, timeliness, and budget.
