Job Summary

The Data QA Analyst ensures the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data flowing through mSupply’s enterprise data platform. Working across all layers of the medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold), this role designs and executes testing strategies that validate pipeline outputs, catch regressions before they reach downstream users, and build confidence in the data that powers BI, data science, and operational decisions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and execute data validation test plans for new and modified pipelines, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
  • Develop and maintain dbt tests, custom data quality checks, and automated validation scripts that run as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Perform data profiling and exploratory analysis on source systems and transformed datasets to identify anomalies, schema drift, null patterns, and referential integrity issues.
  • Validate data transformations by reconciling source‑to‑target record counts, business logic outputs, and aggregation results against expected outcomes.
  • Monitor data quality dashboards and alerting systems, triaging failures and coordinating resolution with Data Engineers and source system owners.
  • Support UAT for new data products, reports, and analytics deliverables by preparing test cases, validating outputs, and documenting results.
  • Maintain a data quality issue log and produce regular quality reports that track trends, recurring defects, and resolution timelines.
  • Support MDM data quality by validating match/merge results, deduplication accuracy, and golden record completeness.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in data quality, data testing, QA, or analytics roles with hands‑on experience validating data pipelines or ETL processes.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, validating, and reconciling large datasets across multiple systems.
  • Experience with data profiling, anomaly detection, and source‑to‑target reconciliation techniques.
  • Familiarity with data testing frameworks or tools (dbt tests, Great Expectations, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate data quality findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred

  • Experience with dbt and modern analytics engineering workflows.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, or cloud‑based data platforms.
  • Experience with data governance, data cataloging, or metadata management practices.
  • Background in wholesale distribution, supply chain, or related B2B industries.
