ASU, a leading innovator in Higher Education, is looking for a Systems Analyst to join our team in ASU's Enterprise Technology group. Our Systems Analysts are problem solvers. Need someone to dig into the database behind the Degree Planning application to find out why the record counts don’t match the previous run?

Call a Systems Analyst. Need someone to create a data flow diagram showing how faculty information flows from the HR system to the Faculty Tracking system? Call a Systems Analyst. We’re not looking for someone with experience in a given tool or application. We’re looking for someone who has the skills and desire to dig into a software application and find out how things work.

Salary Range: $62,000 - $75,000; DOE
  • Analyze, design, and implement business systems and applications to improve operational efficiency and support strategic goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and external vendors to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Perform routine data analysis, generate reports, and ensure data integrity across multiple systems and databases.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to systems configurations, data flows, and business processes.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution efforts with technical staff and end users.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate system performance, propose enhancements, and plan system upgrades or integrations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with higher education applications, including Student Information Systems (SIS), Degree Planning, Learning Management, or ERP
  • Proven ability to document and map complex business processes and technical architectures.
  • Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and middleware technologies
  • Capability to test and validate data results utilizing common testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience managing IT projects, timelines, and deliverables in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a large enterprise IT environment that emphasizes service excellence, security, accessibility, and continuous improvement.
  • Beginner experience with SQL and data structures.
  • Familiarity with reporting or business intelligence tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Activities primarily take place in a standard, climate-controlled office environment and may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, or moving between office spaces.
  • This role involves regular use of a computer (desktop and/or laptop), including a keyboard and mouse.
  • Effective communication and proficiency with a variety of technologies are essential for collaboration with the broader team.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Regular responsibilities may require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or be subject to resolution of conflicts.
