Job Overview
AWS Global Sales is looking for a Database Specialist Solutions Architect (SA) to design and deliver end‑to‑end database solutions using AWS database services such as RDS, Aurora‑PostgreSQL/MySQL, DynamoDB, and related services. The role involves engaging with customers from engineering to C‑level executives, partnering with sales and technical teams, delivering proof‑of‑concept projects, providing technical workshops, and supporting migration from on‑premise databases (Oracle/SQL Server) to AWS.
Key Responsibilities- Provide AWS customers with deep technical expertise and strategic guidance to use AWS Database Services effectively.
- Collaborate with AWS specialist sales, marketing, and product teams to develop innovative solutions for customers' most challenging business problems.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers' executives, helping them navigate cloud transformation and digital innovation.
- Lead architectural reviews and workshops focused on common use cases, industry best practices, and customer migration journeys.
- Design and architect complex database solutions based on relational or non‑relational technologies.
- Champion industry best practices through technical content, including blogs, white papers, and reference architectures.
- Present at key industry events such as AWS re:
Invent, AWS Summit, and other conferences. - Educate customers on the AWS value proposition for data management.
- Provide feedback to AWS product teams on customer requirements and act as the primary point of contact for urgent customer issues in the technical specialty.
- Stay current with emerging trends in Database, Analytics, and Generative AI technologies to help customers innovate and maintain competitive advantage.
- Travel approximately 25% of the time, mainly in the US, to support customer and stakeholder needs.
- 8+ years of technology domain experience (software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructure.
- Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive‑level stakeholders.
- 10+ years of database experience (SQL, No
SQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
- Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
