Technology Support Specialist
Information Technology Services (ITS) at MCCCD is seeking a dedicated Technology Support Specialist to join the Customer Care team at the District Office. The position delivers critical, on‑site customer and computer endpoint support, ensuring exceptional service delivery in a dynamic help‑desk environment. It involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving technical requests, and assisting with device provisioning while leveraging expertise in enterprise endpoint management systems such as MECM, Intune, and JAMF.
EssentialFunctions
- 30% – Endpoint Management and Escalation Resolution:
Provide specialized support for desktop (Windows and MacOS) and audiovisual systems; handle help‑desk tickets and escalated issues. - 20% – Advanced Systems Troubleshooting and Deployment:
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of systems and devices; assist users with hardware and specialized software applications. - 20% – Asset Tracking, Media Projects, and Records Management:
Maintain system inventory, documentation and equipment security; create user documentation and update procedures. - 10% – District Office Refresh Lifecycle Operations:
Participate in the regulatory refresh of desktop and AV systems to ensure compliance and deploy modern hardware standards. - 10% – Operational Compliance and Team Oversight:
Adhere to applicable policies; train, schedule, and supervise student assistants. - 10% – Perform related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience with desktop user support or technical support for equipment, networks, systems, telecommunications, or technology security. No substitution or equivalency is allowed for the high‑school diploma or GED. An equivalent combination of degree, education, certification and directly related full‑time work experience may be considered if it meets the essential duties of the job.
DesiredQualifications
This position is 100 % onsite at the District Office, 8550 S Priest Dr, Tempe, AZ 85284. The candidate must reside in the Phoenix area or relocate within an agreed timeframe. The role may involve after‑hours work, non‑regular business hours, prolonged sitting and frequent computer use, and presenting in large meetings and sponsored events. ITS does not sponsor work visas.
