Student Assistant, Data Integrity

Overview

The Data Integrity Student Assistant position supports Alumni Engagement in recording, updating, and organizing ASU alumni and affiliate contact channels for outreach. The role focuses on front‑end cleaning, recording, and reporting of data, ensuring privacy protection and accurate record matching. It requires 15‑20 hours per week with additional availability during the school year.

• Work daily on Enterprise Salesforce cases to update Advancement Salesforce (Alumni) records—including Thrive subscription updates, chapter mailing lists, and alumni inbox cases.
• Process ‘Update Your Info’ leads to match and load updated contact information into Advancement Salesforce.
• Manually match large Excel lists to Advancement Salesforce records for database loading.
• Assist with departmental projects such as Sun Devil Rewards contact research, on‑site event promotions, and new graduate audience outreach.
• Contribute to constituent reporting and audience estimation efforts.

• High attention to detail and understanding of data integrity and hygiene.
• Skill in researching, following clues, and locating appropriate record matches.
• Understanding of data privacy and protection requirements (FERPA training required).
• Comfort asking teammates for help when needed.
• Basic MS Excel proficiency (sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Comfort with data and database structures.
• Willingness to learn and ability to work well with others.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to set priorities while being flexible.

• Current undergraduate or graduate student at Arizona State University.
