Job Description
Our client is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to establish ownership, visibility, and control over their global IT hardware supply chain. This role addresses gaps in demand planning, forecasting, vendor coordination, inventory visibility, and logistics efficiency that are creating financial, legal, and reputational risk. This is a hands‑on builder role focused on stabilizing today’s environment while laying the foundation for a scalable hardware supply chain program.
BusinessContext
The current hardware supply chain environment includes fragmented suppliers, limited shared forecasting, inventory spread across multiple locations without a system of record, and reactive ordering that leads to expedited freight, missed store openings, and EBIT exposure. This role provides single-point ownership and supports initiatives to reduce risk, consolidate suppliers, and improve end-to-end visibility.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the single point of accountability for IT hardware supply chain management across NTIs, franchises, pilots, rebrands, acquisitions, and break‑fix needs
- Own end-to-end hardware flow from demand signal through procurement, delivery, deployment, and disposition
- Partner with IT, Store Development, Finance, and Program teams to consolidate demand and transition to multi‑store planning
- Share forecasts with suppliers and VARs to enable proactive planning and reduce volatility
- Coordinate with OEMs, VARs, and logistics partners and track performance metrics
- Support supplier consolidation and store‑in‑a‑box / kitting initiatives
- Establish inventory visibility across depots, warehouses, tech hubs, field vehicles, in‑transit shipments, and RMA locations
- Support transition from Excel-based tracking to formal Hardware Asset Management tools
- Identify opportunities to reduce freight, split shipments, invoices, and manual depot handling
- Provide regular reporting on inventory health, supplier performance, and risks impacting store openings or uptime
- Must be onsite 5 days per week in Tempe, Arizona
- 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory management, or operations (internships included)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic analysis)
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Logistics, or Information Systems
- Exposure to IT or technology hardware environments
- Experience supporting multi‑site or retail operations
- Familiarity with ERP, procurement, or asset management systems (e.g., SAP, Service Now, Coupa)
- Interest in building scalable processes and long‑term supply chain capability
