Senior Buyer
Our Sensors Division in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Buyer will take a lead role in procurement activities for complex and technical materials and services, managing supplier relationships, driving cost‑reduction strategies, and ensuring optimal inventory levels to support production schedules.
Location: Gilbert, AZ
Salary Range: $67,400 – $80,000 per year plus bonus

- Lead procurement efforts for high‑value, technical, or strategic commodities and services.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies, vendor selection processes, and cost‑saving initiatives.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to meet production needs.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements that align with company objectives.
- Track and expedite complex purchase orders; update shipping and delivery schedules proactively.
- Resolve supplier‑related issues, including claims, rejections, over/under shipments, engineering changes, and cancellations.
- Analyze supplier performance metrics and conduct site visits to evaluate production capabilities and compliance.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to address and resolve invoicing discrepancies.
- Monitor market trends, perform make‑versus‑buy analysis, and evaluate alternative sourcing opportunities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior buyers or procurement staff as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to perform price/cost analysis and contract negotiations.
- PMAC, ISM, or APICS certification preferred (e.g., CPM, CPSM, CPIM).
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
