The Freight Brokerage Carrier Sales Representative will be responsible for sourcing transportation providers and providing tracking updates as needed to support customer requests. Develop a carrier coverage strategy and have full autonomy for supporting a customer’s truckload & LTL coverage needs. Directly engage with Account Executives, Shipment Management Associates (SMA) and Business Development Managers as needed to build a network of service providers that allows them the ability to foster an effective carrier network to support any and all freight transportation needs a customer desires.
EssentialFunctions
- Tender accept/reject loads, create loads, set appointments, dispatch, track and trace loads, root cause problem solve issues, and resolve/communicate to carrier and/or customer as appropriate.
- Identify and develop relationships with transportation providers to ensure adequate coverage to maximize penetration of customer freight portfolio through soliciting capacity.
- Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads to ensure proper customer needs are met within the agreed upon time period.
- Continuous improvement in all segments of the business.
- Schedules and dispatches while ensuring compliance of Federal, State, and Local regulations; responsible for timely updating of load statuses to the TMS.
- Maintain a positive employee‑related climate and maintain a customer satisfaction index at a World Class Level while having availability 24/7/365 for responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to represent the company with external constituents.
- Represent Ryder Shipment Management Services in a professional manner to internal and external parties.

- Knowledge and support of RIL policies and procedures (advanced required).
- Demonstrated PC skills in MS Access, Excel, Word; clear understanding of SMS legacy system (intermediate required).
- Understanding of assigned customer, customer product and distribution requirements (intermediate required).
- H.S. diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
- Three (3) years or more business experience required.
- Working knowledge of Transportation Industry, carrier modes & services and basic Supply Chain design and functionality (advanced required).
- Knowledge and support of RIL policies and procedures (advanced required).
- Demonstrated PC skills in MS Access, Excel, Word; clear understanding of SMS legacy system (intermediate required).
- Understanding of assigned customer, customer product and distribution requirements (intermediate required).

Compensation InformationSalary: $50,000 – $55,000 annually; position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
