Position Overview
The Director of Credit will oversee enterprise-wide credit and collections strategy, ensuring strong cash flow, disciplined risk management, and consistent customer experience across all branches.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for building standardized processes, developing a multi-location team, and aligning credit practices with business growth.
The ideal candidate brings deep B2B construction industry credit experience, understands lien and sales tax frameworks, and has a strong track record of process building and team leadership.
Qualifications- 7–10+ years of progressive credit & collections experience
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing multi-location teams
- Strong B2B construction industry credit background
- Knowledge of lien laws and sales tax frameworks
- Experience building processes and SOPs
- Advanced Excel and strong financial analysis skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation ability
- Experience supporting mid-to-large private companies ($250M–$1B revenue)
- Epicor ERP experience
- Develop and implement company-wide credit policies and procedures
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness using financials, credit reports, and payment history
- Make sound credit decisions balancing risk and business opportunity
- Lead and mentor a multi-location collections team
- Resolve complex disputes and high-risk accounts
- Drive initiatives to reduce DSO and improve receivables performance
- Standardize SOPs across all branches
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Deliver KPI reporting, forecasts, and risk analysis to leadership
- Ensure accurate payment application and ledger integrity
- Partner with Sales and Operations to align credit strategy with growth
- Communicate policies clearly across departments
- Support consistent customer experience company-wide
- Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing staff
- Foster accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
