Harris Integrated Vision Solutions has an availability for an Operations Manager to join our manufacturing facility in Tempe, AZ. The Operations Manager will direct the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations and, at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor and is responsible for managing two or more of the following activities related to operations: manufacturing, production planning, manufacturing engineering, test, quality, or shipping/receiving/stores.
Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

- Leads and directs experienced professionals, lower level supervisors, or associate managers. Communicates within and outside of organization to explain and influence changes to policies, practices, or approaches. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Establishes short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results. Requires management and leadership knowledge in job area and comprehensive knowledge within professional discipline.
- Manages individuals typically consisting of experienced professionals or lower level supervisors or associate managers. Leads, directs and reviews the work of direct report(s) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Has hiring, firing, promotion and compensation authority within own organization, in accordance with management review and approval. Reports to Senior Manager or higher.
- Communicates with parties within and outside of the organization including customers or vendors. Works to influence others to accept individual or team’s views or practices and changes to concepts, practices, and approaches. Requires ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the function or business area. May conduct briefings with senior leaders.
- Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of the job area. May develop new concepts or standards. Problems span a wide range of difficult and unique issues across the function and/or business area.
- Manages a team with focus on policy and strategy implementation. Establishes operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function. Focus is on short-term operational plans (e.g., less than 1 year). Provides measurable input of new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall functional results. Typically does not have budget or P&L accountability, but may manage certain processes or projects within a defined budget set by management.
