Job Summary

The Superintendent is the overall manager on a medium to large sized project. They ensure that all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed and managed in accordance with the Company's requirements, including safety, quality, management and financial performance. All aspects of the assigned project are carried out efficiently with respect to staffing, materials, financial, customer care and delivery goals.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline and, if necessary, discharge all project related staff.
  • Effectively manage all human resources issues per Company policies and procedures and provide recommendations for performance ratings, promotions and pay changes.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to meet all customer and Company goals and objectives.
  • Act as the senior Company liaison for operational interface with customer representatives.
  • Plan, manage, monitor and maintain project profitability to achieve Company goals.
  • Ensure deadlines are met per customer requirements and manage overall workload distribution and staffing levels.
  • Ensure productivity, job completion and compliance with project budget and review all job cost postings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare invoices, customer collections, periodic financial reporting, and fully complete all IES and project paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Perform quality checks, manage prevention of outages, conduct day‑to‑day job walks, and prepare red‑lined as‑built drawings.
  • Serve as main on‑site customer contact for questions and concerns; attend facility and construction meetings when required.
  • Demonstrate detailed technical knowledge, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Monitor and improve operational processes for accuracy, completeness and efficiency, including estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling and reporting.
  • Develop, redesign and implement process improvements as required to bring processes to effective levels.
  • Lead assigned operations meetings and training sessions and manage tools and truck inventory/maintenance.
  • Complete any other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
  • Proficiency with a computer and skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
  • Demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create scope of work, develop estimates, and manage tasks to final completion and customer turnover.
  • Ability to use specified trade tools (punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt‑ohmmeter, 4‑pair continuity tester, 5‑gang punch tool).
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to develop branch and job processes and best practices.
  • High skill level interpreting blueprints, specifications, reports and quality requirements.
  • Ability to travel within branch and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Ability to learn and teach company and customer project management systems.
  • Ability to work at heights, off a ladder, in confined spaces, lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on large job sites regularly and distinguish colors, read small print and recognize audible signals.
Salary

Min USD $40.00/Hr. Max USD $50.00/Hr.
