Position Overview

We are seeking a General Superintendent to join our team. The General Superintendent plays a pivotal role in managing and leading field operations across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives, safety protocols, and quality expectations. This position provides direct supervision and mentorship to Foremen, General Foremen, and Superintendents, working closely with the Director of Field Operations to optimize staffing, project execution, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads and manages overall operations for multiple medium to large electrical projects, ensuring project objectives, safety, and quality standards are met.

  • Supervises and mentors a team of Field Leaders, including Foremen, General Foremen, and Superintendents, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.

  • Collaborates with the Director of Field Operations to implement staffing strategies and ensure resource allocation aligns with project schedules and budgets.

  • Oversees project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure timely completion and adherence to milestones.

  • Reviews and interprets project plans, specifications, and blueprints, guiding teams through accurate electrical system implementation.

  • Monitors project budgets and expenses, working to control costs and improve resource allocation efficiency.

  • Engages in regular communication with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to provide updates and resolve challenges.

  • Drives a culture of safety excellence, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.

  • Identifies areas for process improvement, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and overall project outcomes.

  • Participates in project planning meetings, offering insights to improve execution strategies and mitigate risks.

  • Leads by example, embodying the companyÕs core values and promoting a positive, results-driven work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.

  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in the electrical construction industry, with a proven track record of managing medium to large-scale projects.

  • Valid driverÕs license and reliable transportation.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing and developing large field teams.

  • Experience with budget forecasting, cost management, and strategic planning.

  • Strong background in process improvement and operational efficiency strategies.

OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-for-one year basis or vice versa.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, industry codes, and regulations.

  • Knowledge of workforce planning, resource allocation, and cost management.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations, risk mitigation strategies, and OSHA compliance.
