Senior Manager, Enterprise Strategy
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Strategy is responsible for the development and monitoring of the Firm's Enterprise Strategy. This role supports the formulation of enterprise, business, functional strategy, or inorganic growth across various time horizons, leads strategic firm efforts, supports the development and execution of the 3-year, annual and continuous strategic planning process, partners with teams across Firm Strategy, leads and manages decisions within firm strategy work streams, monitors and escalates emerging issues and trends to Firm Strategy leadership for discussion and strategic influencing.
As a leader within Enterprise Strategy, this individual oversees a team of strategists responsible for delivering enterprise-wide strategic work, developing recommendations for executive audiences, and integrating competitive, industry, client, and firm insights into strategic choices. The role requires exceptional strategic thinking, problem solving, executive communication, influence, facilitation, and leadership skills to help guide the firm's direction across multiple time horizons. What you'll do:
- Shape and facilitate development of the firm's enterprise strategy with the Enterprise Leadership Team; and engage and influence senior stakeholders of the firm in the development, activation, and stewardship of enterprise, business, and functional strategies.
- Lead cross-functional teams in helping frame, design and execute strategic solutions, including the development of hypotheses, gathering data, analyzing results, and presenting findings to executive audiences.
- Oversee a team of strategists responsible for driving multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring timely completion of deliverables, providing coaching, work direction, quality review, and professional development.
- Lead the synthesis and distribution of industry, customer, and competitive information for internal firm stakeholders.
- Lead the formulation of enterprise, business, and functional strategies across multiple time horizons, integrating findings from internal research, external developments, and leadership's priorities.
- Lead analysis using both qualitative and quantitative methods, engaging relevant subject matter experts inside and outside the firm where appropriate, to generate insights and recommendations that advance strategic thinking of the enterprise over multiple time horizons.
- Facilitate alignment sessions, working sessions, and workshops with key stakeholders and senior executives, guiding discussion of complex strategic questions and trade-offs, resulting in aligned decisions, recommendations, and high participant engagement.
- Lead strategic initiatives through program management and matrix leadership, coordinating stakeholders to advance enterprise priorities.
- Design and facilitate leadership programs, strategy workshops, and learning experiences that strengthen strategic and industry acumen across the firm.
- Lead the development and execution of periodic strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment between enterprise priorities, objectives, measures, roadmaps, business segment strategies, and firm planning activities.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree is required with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Advanced Degree(s) or Certification(s) in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Analytics are preferred.
- 7-10+ years of relevant work experience
- Advanced skills and ability to learn innovation management, systems thinking, planning and organizing, relationship building, collaboration, critical thinking, project management.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning and execution skills to drive the continued evolution of a functional capability
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to provide concise, relevant market commentary, and explain complex concepts directly to key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial openness and ability to explore new possibilities and different approaches to issues.
- Industry knowledge required (relevant trends driving the financial services industry and adjacent industries, understanding of key competitors, etc.)
- Firm knowledge preferred (understanding of firm decision-making processes; relationships with strategy decision-makers including ELT, OC, and business segment leaders)
- Strategy knowledge required (best practice frameworks)
- Team Leadership and capability building
