* We are seeking a Customs Brokerage Supervisor to oversee customs clearance operations within a fast-paced international logistics environment. This role is responsible for managing customs clearance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading operational performance, and developing a team of customs professionals.
The Customs Brokerage Supervisor will manage approximately 30 employees with 2 direct reports and will be responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing staff while ensuring key performance indicators are met.
** What is the Job:*
* + Manage and coordinate customs clearance activities in a customs house brokerage or gateway environment
+ Ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing imported and exported products
+ Verify tariffs, price conversions, weight, volume, and supporting documentation
+ Examine invoices, bills of lading, shipping statements, and customs documentation
+ Establish, monitor, and improve customs clearance procedures and service standards
+ Ensure policies and procedures are consistently administered
+ Drive operational performance and achieve key performance indicator (KPI) targets
+ Hire, coach, train, and develop employees
+ Assign work, review productivity, and manage performance
+ Work with customs officials and internal stakeholders to resolve shipment delays and clearance issues
** What is Needed:*
* + Bachelor's degree preferred
+ 3-5+ years of experience in Customs Brokerage, International Trade, Import/Export Operations, or a related field
+ Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
+ Strong understanding of customs regulations and import/export documentation
+ Experience managing employee performance and development
+ Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)
+ Customs Brokerage leadership experience
+ Import/Export compliance expertise
+ Experience managing KPIs and operational metrics
