Facilities Management Supervisor
The Facilities Management Supervisor for the Guadalupe area directs and manages the overall operations of the Building Maintenance Unit, Custodial Unit, and Emergency Program Unit. The incumbent maintains repairs, cleans, and remodels tribal facilities and homes under the emergency program.
The Facilities Management Supervisor supervises staff, prioritizes and assigns work, conducts performance evaluations, ensures staff are trained, follows policies and procedures, maintains a healthy and safe working environment, and makes hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. The incumbent directs and manages the overall operations of the Facilities Maintenance Units, which maintains repairs and remodels tribal facilities. They develop and maintain policies and procedures relevant to program content and implementation.
They review cost accounting reports to determine efficiency and effectiveness of the Units. They assign and prioritize projects involving maintenance, installation, repair, and alterations of the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC Systems. They supervise and inspect completion of work orders, including coordinating work schedule with affected departments to minimize impact. They are responsible for upkeep, refurbishment, and maintenance of all buildings, including preventative maintenance schedules.
They coordinate remodeling projects and work orders to ensure conformance to established specifications, prepare cost estimates for repair, and remodeling work. They conduct periodic inspections of buildings to review work standards, identify, and correct deficiencies. They coordinate motor pool vehicle use for the Guadalupe community departments. They schedule vehicles for wash or cleaning and refuel vehicles as needed. They oversee daily logging of incidents, which may affect units, including employee incidents and irregularities.
They ensure compliance with all safety standards and codes; arranges for safety trainings. They maintain and update inventory of equipment and supplies. They ensure superior customer service to all internal and external customers; address and resolve complaints. They assist the Facilities Department Director with developing long-term facilities maintenance goals and annual departmental budget requirements.
Knowledge of supervisory principles, budgetary principles, recordkeeping principles, project management principles, applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, occupational hazards and safety precautions, all aspects of building maintenance trade, hand and power tools and materials used in all facets of building maintenance and construction work, Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.

include supervising and evaluating employees, managing and executing multiple tasks, prioritizing and assigning work, operating a variety of maintenance and repair related equipment, applying maintenance and operations principles, compiling data and information, budget management, handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines, collaborating and developing relationship and supporting an environment of change, recognizing problems, identifying alternative solutions, and making appropriate recommendations, working independently, applying applicable local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations, maintaining records and preparing reports, communicating effectively verbally and in writing, operating a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications, good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public.
High School Diploma or GED plus five (5) years of experience in general building maintenance or construction with at least two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience; and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Journeyman level experience in one of the following is preferred: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or Carpentry. Special requirements include possessing and maintaining a valid Arizona Driver's License, working non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends, and having a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or being able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire.
