Job Description:

Rate of Pay: $66,000 - $73,000 per year; DOEUnder the direction of the Director of Student Advocacy and Assistance, the Assistant Director of Student Advocacy and Assistance provides leadership, supervision, and operational oversight for Advocacy Coordinator Seniors across multiple campus locations. This position ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality student advocacy services, oversees complex and high-level case management, and promotes best practices in student support, crisis response, and case coordination.

The Assistant Director supervises professional staff, provides coaching and consultation on sensitive student situations, and collaborates with university leadership, faculty, staff, and community partners to develop and implement comprehensive support strategies that promote student success, retention, and well-being. The position is responsible for monitoring service delivery, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures, analyzing trends to improve operations, and fostering a collaborative, student-centered approach to advocacy across the  addition to supervisory responsibilities, the Assistant Director maintains a caseload of complex student cases, provides advanced consultation and training to campus partners, represents Student Advocacy and Assistance on university committees and work groups, and supports divisional initiatives and strategic priorities.

This position is based in the Office of the Dean of Students at the Tempe location and will travel to other locations.

Monday – Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm; remote or hybrid schedule is not applicable.

Essential Duties:

Recruit, supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate Advocacy Coordinator Seniors across multiple campus locations to ensure high-quality performance and professional development.

Monitor for quality assurance, case documentation, and compliance with university policies, FERPA, and applicable regulations.

Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex student situations, providing strategic direction and decision-making support to advocacy staff.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with university leadership, faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance student support services.
