Crew leader I

Wilsonart, in Phoenix, currently has an opening for a Crew leader I. The Crew leader oversees activities of warehouse employees engaged in receiving products, supplies and fulfilling customer orders. Performs complex warehousing functions to replenish the finished goods inventory with material from the manufacturing facilities. Fills customer orders, inspects material, packs material for shipments. Develop methods to increase efficiency, productivity and reduce waste and redundancy.

Performs other tasks.

• Assign duties to employees and oversees department activities
• Conducts employee performance reviews
• Performs monthly safety checklist
• Works closely with crew to find ways of reducing shipping errors as part of a continuous improvement process
• Trains personnel to meet the technical level of expertise to perform job duties and responsibilities
• Assists employees in resolving problems and advises supervisors of complex problems
• Conducts cycle counts and review product usage with supervisor to maintain correct level of sellable inventory
• Receives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendors
• Review and order warehouse supplies to maintain sufficient level for warehouse operation
• Checks and places materials in the correct bin
• Checks material against the manifest and reports discrepancies
• Informs supervisor and photographs all defective materials
• Cuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending orders
• Reads, interprets, processes, and packs orders
• Create BOLs for outgoing products
• Assists the needs of the customer

• Knowledge of computers sufficient to check inventories, make stock adjustments, word processors and spreadsheets
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the area of work and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards
• Skill in verbal and written communication, including tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers and employees
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain a clean work environment
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures and practices
• Skill in organizing and prioritizing
• Lead warehouse crew in daily stretching, safety meetings and WIP discussion
• Knowledge of materials inventoried
• Knowledge of proper material handling techniques
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to drive a lift truck and operate a table saw
• Ability to read and understand customer orders
• Knowledge of DOT requirements and proper loading techniques for outgoing deliveries
