The Production & Packaging Technician will report directly to the Facility Leader in Tempe, AZ. In this role, they will support the production leads for the SUNO, Potpots, and Pixils brands, receiving vital training for those processes. This is a hands‑on role on the production floor, working alongside a tight‑knitted team to package, label, and prepare finished goods that meet Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) standards and our internal quality benchmarks.
Success in this role will be defined by meeting or exceeding standard expectations for punctuality, reliability, and dependability. This person will also work with the appropriate process leaders to align on performance targets for productivity and efficiency across the various product lines being supported. There is also an opportunity for expanded production responsibility, so a willingness and interest to learn is key to success.
Starting pay for a full‑time role is $18 per hour, with experience a key factor in the rate. Lion Labs is always open to discussion in this respect as well.
General Job Expectations- General structure is Monday to Friday, 8‑hour shifts, with flexible start times
- Reliable attendance and punctuality based upon established shift
- Responsible for preliminary and final packaging for the full Lion Labs brand portfolio, meeting hourly/daily productivity targets established by product category
- Edible packaging includes, but is not limited to:
Mylar package filling/labeling, bottle/tin filling/labeling, and case pack preparation - Edible production includes, but is not limited to:
Support of panning equipment for initial production/dosing, support of the panning line for coating/coloring/flavoring - SUNO packaging includes, but is not limited to:
Counting tablets to fill/cap bottles, labeling various packages either manually or using automated labelers, filling of syringes and tinctures, compliance labeling, case pack preparation - SUNO production includes, but is not limited to:
Formulation and production of infused tablets, formulation of infused oil and concentrates - Maintain accurate batch records, lot tracking, and production logs
- Operate and maintain packaging equipment; clean and sanitize equipment and work surfaces between runs
- Support inventory counts of raw materials, packaging items, and finished goods
- Follow all AZDHS, Sonoran Roots, and OSHA requirements; flag any compliance, quality, or safety concerns immediately
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 21 years of age or older
- Must have or acquire an AZDHS Facility Agent Card
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work on‑site at the Lion Labs facility in Tempe, AZ
- Ability to stand for full shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks with good manual dexterity
- Professional Curiosity: Packaging will be the initial primary accountability, but an ideal candidate will be interested in learning the production tasks as well
- Communication: Great verbal communication skills. Receive constructive feedback from teammates and the company’s leadership team
- Technology: Computer skills will be helpful as advanced tasks are trained/added
- Time management: Work diligently to meet objectives/goals. Show flexibility for tasks based on unforeseen changes to internal timelines with short notice
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry and product categories
