Position: Maintenance Technician- Back End Days

Position Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment. The role requires a strong mechanical skill base, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, conveyor systems, and PLC usage. The Technician will perform maintenance tasks across the installed asset base, observe equipment performance, provide recommendations for improvements, and promote company quality & safety standards with a focus on continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) in warehouse or production areas.
  • Maintain food quality and safety in accordance with corporate, customer, and governing standards (e.g., SQF).
  • Report FSMS problems to management to initiate corrective actions.
  • Perform repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
  • Troubleshoot machinery for electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic malfunctions.
  • Maintain production supporting equipment such as glycol, RO, compressed air, lubrication, and chemical distribution systems.
  • Use innovative thinking to minimize production downtime and assure food safety, product quality, and personnel safety.
  • Document and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders, recording part numbers for inventory purposes.
  • Communicate clearly and completely all relevant maintenance and production information from shift to relieving shift.
  • Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
  • Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
  • Collaborate with adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of GMPs.
  • Understanding of food safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
  • Work independently without supervision.
  • Good decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Education and Experience
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous maintenance experience in manufacturing (preferred).
Working Conditions
  • Work schedule may include weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, and overnight; overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Operate in a fast‑paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection. Temperatures can be very hot or relatively cold.
Travel Requirements
  • May require minimal travel for training.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. (minimum 5 lbs.).
  • Carry weight, lift, and move items.
  • Walk and drive as necessary.
  • Climb stairs, ladders, or balance on uneven surfaces.
  • Maintain visual and sensory focus.
  • Display excellent hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Handle mental stress from deadlines, production quotas, and accuracy demands.
