CNC Lathe Machinist - 3rd Shift

3rd Shift Friday - Sunday 5am-5:30pm, 10% differential. Work 36 hours and get paid for 40. Sign-On Bonus: $4000. 1st half paid after 30 days, and 2nd half paid after 60 days.

• Loads, unloads, starts, and stops machines.
• Sets the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.
• Watches gauges, dials, and other key indicators to ensure machines are operating correctly and work-pieces meet quality standards.
• Monitors machines during operation to detect dull cutting tools and excessive vibration.
• Measures dimensions of finished work-pieces to verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Calculates and sets machine movements according to drawing specifications.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of basic hand tools, including their uses and maintenance.
• Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
• Ability to control the operations of machining equipment and systems.
• Basic mathematics knowledge, particularly Trigonometry.

• High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience in relevant field preferred.
• 5S and Lean Manufacturing training.
• Basic Blueprint Reading.
• Documentation and Modern’s Production System.
• Inspection Techniques for Machinists. SPC charts and tools. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Adjusting boring heads.
