What You Will Experience in This Position
This shift is 6PM - 2:30AM, Monday through Friday.
- Directly supervise and drive production employees in an assigned value stream, including performance management, time and attendance, payroll time submissions, mentoring, motivation, recognition, and discipline.
- Own day‑to‑day production activities within the value stream to ensure commitments are met and continuous improvement is pursued.
- Plan and lead daily performance operations using Plant MDI boards.
- Drive a continuous‑improvement culture by applying lean methodology, involving employees in problem‑solving, decision‑making, and cross‑functional partnerships.
- Be highly visible to team members and cultivate a high‑involvement, hands‑on problem‑solving environment.
- Move within the plant to facilitate work teams, problem‑solving, and communication with employees and management.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internal and external, and build credibility with business partners.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees, supporting nVent’s safety programs and preventing hazardous conditions.
Academic background in a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably with manufacturing leadership experience.
- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems and understanding of SQDCC.
- Proven understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Knowledge of process improvement concepts and methods, with flexibility and adaptability to deploy new processes.
