About the Role:

The Work Order Lead plays a critical role in overseeing the execution and management of work orders within a manufacturing environment to ensure efficient production flow and timely completion of tasks. This position is responsible for coordinating between various departments, including production, maintenance, and inventory control, to prioritize and schedule work orders effectively. The supervisor ensures that all work orders comply with safety standards, quality requirements, and company policies while optimizing resource allocation.

By monitoring progress and resolving any issues that arise, the Work Order Supervisor helps minimize downtime and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this role contributes to maintaining high operational standards and meeting production targets within the manufacturing facility.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Associate’s degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with direct involvement in work order management or production supervision.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and maintenance operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and prioritize daily work orders to align with production schedules and operational goals.
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and inventory teams to ensure resources and materials are available for work order completion.
  • Monitor the progress of work orders, identify bottlenecks or delays, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies throughout the work order lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to work orders, including status updates and completion reports.
  • Train and supervise work order staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce costs.

The Work Order Lead utilizes strong organizational and communication skills daily to coordinate between departments and ensure smooth workflow. Analytical skills are essential for monitoring work order progress, identifying issues, and implementing effective solutions to maintain production efficiency. Leadership and interpersonal skills are applied to manage and motivate the team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Technical proficiency with CMMS and ERP systems enables accurate tracking and documentation of work orders, facilitating transparency and accountability.

Additionally, knowledge of safety and quality standards ensures that all activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies, promoting a safe and high-quality manufacturing operation.
