Supervises, assesses, plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates patient care and staff development; determines and maintains unit or program needs and standards using the nursing process and evidence‑based information. Assumes responsibility and accountability for incorporating the vision, values, mission, and critical goals of the organization into performance. Assists the Clinical Director in managing the unit’s assigned staff and patient population. Provides direct patient care according to unit needs and collaborates with physicians in executing the medical plan of care.

Oversees staff and ensures adequate patient care, including hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching, and developing employees to ensure productivity, quality of work, and alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Establishes care plans, administers medication, checks dosages, and avoids interactions; starts, maintains, and discontinues IV lines; administers therapies and treatments; observes patients and records observations; consults with physicians and other healthcare clinicians.

Ensures compliance with all policies, maintains financial stewardship, and manages the department budget. Serves as a resource to staff, patients, families, caregivers, physicians, and visitors to improve patient experience and clinical outcomes while promoting a healthy work environment. Teaches patients and families disease management, post‑treatment and home‑care needs, diet, nutrition, exercise programs, and medication administration. Facilitates inter‑/intra‑departmental collaboration and communication, and promotes problem solving.

Participates in policy revisions, committees, and goal‑setting for the unit. Contributes to recruitment and retention of staff through role‑modeling, peer relationships, and preceptor or mentor programs. Coordinates educational and professional activities related to department/unit needs. Rounds regularly with physicians, patients, or families to support quality practice and improve patient experience. Uses nursing process and evidence‑based practice to provide care and evaluate plans.

Initiates and supports quality improvement initiatives and uses resources efficiently. Directs staff in the application of the nursing process, coordinates patient care, and promotes independent functioning among employees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree — Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN, BScN) from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution.

Legally licensed to work as a registered nurse in the State of Arizona.

• 2 years Registered Nurse (RN) – Required
• 3 years Registered Nurse (RN) – Preferred

• BCLS – Basic Life Support BLS Healthcare Provider Training Course – Required
• Certifications in their respective areas of expertise within 1 year of hire or promotion for magnet standards – Required
• RN – Registered Nurse State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure – Required
