Job Overview

Honor Health offers an Internal Travel Program. Assignments are 13 weeks long with the possibility of up to 3 extensions. Compensation can reach $2,943.00 per week. The role also includes shift and weekend differentials, self‑scheduling, medical/dental/vision/PTO eligibility, and, upon conversion to Core Staff, eligibility for any Honor Health sign‑on bonus.

The RN's practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. The RN has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. The RN records patients' medical history and symptoms, helps perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operates medical equipment, administers treatment and medications, and assists with patient follow‑up and rehabilitation.

The RN establishes a care plan or contributes to an existing plan, which may include administering medication (with careful dosage checks and avoiding interactions), starting, maintaining, and discontinuing IV lines, administering therapies and treatments, observing the patient and recording those observations, and consulting with physicians and other clinicians. The RN teaches patients and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries, explains post‑treatment and home‑care needs, diet, nutrition, exercise programs, and self‑administration of medication and therapy.

The RN provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides regarding patient care, delegating when appropriate. The RN supports efforts to advance clinical knowledge and skills, precepts new hire staff and students, assists staff to complete competency tasks, enhances knowledge in nursing management and patient care, and works to promote a healthy work environment with a theory‑based, evidence‑based, shared‑governance model for decision‑making.

Possess the knowledge of how to collect health data in a systematic and ongoing manner, prioritizing data collection as determined by the patient’s immediate condition or needs, and involving the family. Analyze the assessment data to determine diagnoses and use the nursing diagnosis to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise an appropriate patient plan of care that is family‑centered, developmentally and age‑appropriate, and culturally relevant.

Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient and their specific health problems. Develop plans that reflect current nursing practice and evidence‑based, providing continuity of care. Implement interventions in the plan of care, initiate treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on standing orders, policies, and procedures. Provide nursing care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs of the patient and family using a family‑centered approach.

Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes, document observations and interventions in a retrievable form, and provide ongoing evaluation of the plan’s quality and effectiveness. Evaluate one’s own nursing practice relative to professional standards, statutes, regulations, and policies, and maintain current knowledge. Integrate ethical principles and enhance knowledge of cultural diversity. Collaborate in professional development at institutional, local, regional, and state levels.

Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and other providers through role‑modeling, fostering relationships, and participating in preceptor and mentor programs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Develop and evaluate standards of care that are evidence‑based, identify changes needed, and facilitate adoption of improvements. Use research to identify strategies for improving practice and patient outcomes.
