Location: Tempe, AZ (Hybrid)

Compensation: $50 - 55/hour

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to support the development and enhancement of a business‑critical application designed to improve operational workflows through automation. In this role, you will execute comprehensive testing throughout the software development lifecycle, helping ensure software quality by validating functionality, improving testing processes, and supporting the successful delivery of new features in an Agile environment.

The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented quality assurance professional with experience performing functional, regression, API, and backend testing across enterprise applications. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining quality assurance documentation, executing manual and end‑to‑end testing, validating backend data using SQL, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, participating in Agile ceremonies, and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure applications meet both business and technical requirements.

• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end‑to‑end testing across web‑based applications.
• Execute API testing to validate service functionality and data integrity.
• Conduct backend data validation using SQL queries.
• Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test strategies, test cases, and test scripts.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.
• Prepare and maintain test data necessary for execution of testing scenarios.
• Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure business requirements are accurately validated.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand‑ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with business users.
• Support continuous improvement of QA standards, testing methodologies, and overall software quality.

• Minimum of 4 years of professional software quality assurance or software testing experience.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on API testing experience.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Thorough understanding of software testing principles, quality assurance processes, and testing methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

• Experience working within Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Familiarity with modern work management or application lifecycle management platforms.
• Basic experience writing and executing SQL queries for backend validation.
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks or test automation tools.

• Develop comprehensive testing strategies and detailed test plans.
• Create, execute, and maintain functional and automated test cases.
• Validate application functionality through manual, API, and backend testing.
• Identify, document, and monitor software defects through successful resolution.
• Prepare and manage test data supporting multiple testing scenarios.
• Perform SQL‑based validation of business rules, transactions, and application data.
• Design and maintain API and automated testing scripts where applicable.
• Partner with project teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle.
