Position SummaryThe Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization's Quality Environmental Management System (QEMS) to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. This position manages quality documentation, customer complaints, corrective actions, PPAP submissions and approvals, internal audits, supplier quality activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and support compliance with QEMS, and organizational quality requirements, as applicable.
Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.
Control and maintain quality records and documentation.
Participate in internal audits and support audit preparation activities.
Monitor quality metrics and report performance trends.
- Coordinate customer PPAP requirements and submission activities.
- Prepare, review, and submit PPAP packages in accordance with AIAG requirements.
- Ensure all PPAP elements are complete, accurate, and approved prior to production release.
- Review engineering changes and determine PPAP submission requirements.
- Interface with customers, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers regarding PPAP approvals.
- Maintain PPAP status logs and approval records.
- Support customer launches and new product introduction projects.
- Receive, investigate, and document customer complaints and quality concerns.
- Coordinate containment actions to protect customers from nonconforming products.
- Lead root cause analysis.
- Manage internal and external nonconformance reports (NCRs).
- Facilitate corrective action investigations and closure.
- Verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Maintain corrective action databases and performance metrics.
- Review supplier corrective action responses.
- Support supplier PPAP and quality documentation reviews.
- Participate in supplier audits as required.
- Track supplier quality performance and improvement activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
