Salary Range: $22.50 - $23.50 per hour.

Job Summary:

Performs intermediate to complex technical support, general lab maintenance, and lab operational support with some degree of independence to aid in research projects. Responsible for following lab safety standards.

• Learn, apply, and teach methods essential for the Seyfferth Lab, including plant and soil extractions, microwave digestions of plant and soils, elemental analysis with ICP-QQQ-MS, X-ray fluorescence, and spectrophotometry.
• Maintain records for purchasing, maintaining lab equipment, and ensure safety protocols are being used in the laboratory.
• General lab support, such as organizing reagents and materials, maintaining supply inventory, and ensuring lab cleanliness.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new laboratory members.
• Communicate clearly to perform essential functions.
• Undergo regular review of objectives by departmental administrator.

• High School Diploma and two years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.

• Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences with relevant coursework or laboratory experience with chemical principles.
• Experience with analytical techniques in a lab setting.
• Strong organizational skills.

Employment:
Full time (40 hours per week), benefits-eligible for one year with possibility of renewal.
