Junior Research Intern
The Center on Reinventing Public Education is seeking a Junior Research Intern with experience in qualitative research and an interest in research and data management to join our team.
The Junior Research Intern will be responsible for supporting our qualitative data collection and analysis on our New England District Transformation project. They will work both collaboratively with the project team on various tasks. Responsibilities will include scheduling interviews, observing and summarizing interviews, research operations activities, and contributing to theme identification.
The Junior Research Intern will also support specific tasks on the Canopy project's nomination survey administration and communications campaign. This involves managing contact data, drafting and sending outreach communications to support participation, reviewing school nominations, and maintaining data quality assurance for educational research.
This role is a great opportunity to gain research experience and contribute to multiple projects across the organization. The intern will engage with a variety of critical topics affecting the public education landscape this year (deeper learning, college and career readiness, supporting multilingual learners, district budget and enrollment decline).

CRPE stands at the intersection of enduring challenges (like educational inequity) and emerging ones (like technological disruption). While areas of focus vary over time, the Research Analyst will support projects specifically focused on
1) the conditions necessary for school systems to sustain bold innovation and
2) building a national research agenda and conducting responsive research on AI in education.
Essential Duties:
- Conduct background research using public sources to track district, school, and state policies, organizing and analyzing findings according to established data quality and handling procedures.
- Support survey administration by drafting materials, updating contact data, and coordinating email communication.
- Support data collection by scheduling, attending, and managing interviews
- Contribute to qualitative analysis by identifying patterns, themes, and trends across interview and survey data.
- Participate in team meetings, webinars, and other project-related activities; communicate proactively with supervisors and team members regarding progress, priorities, and deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of CRPE research projects and organizational priorities.
