About the Position

With over 430 retail stores worldwide, the Store Leadership Teams are essential to our business. The Retail Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership Team and is responsible for providing leadership and direction to diverse associate‑level team members in an assigned area of responsibility. The role fosters a positive environment and demonstrates Columbia Sportswear Company values.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day work of associate‑level staff and provide direction, guidance, training, and coaching.
  • Supervise an assigned department, ensuring profitability through receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing sales.
  • Create and maintain a strong store culture through teamwork and coaching, setting a high professional standard.
  • Collaborate with the store leadership team on policies, procedures, and standards for assigned areas.
  • Maintain company standards and policies, ensuring employees adhere to procedures and quality standards and resolve any problems or errors.
Qualifications
  • No specific education required. A high‑school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a similar position or specialization.
  • Proficiency operating a point‑of‑sales (POS) system, other in‑store computerized systems, and telephone.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to exchange ideas and information with the leadership team, associates, and consumers.
Job Conditions
  • Frequently in an active environment, moving or adjusting items weighing up to 40lbs.
  • May use specialized equipment and experience exposure to dust and noise.
  • Requires flexibly working a retail schedule that may change seasonally or in response to business trends.
