General Function

As an Eye Care Advisor, you deliver the Lens Crafters Experience, ensuring all patients receive high‑quality optometric care and integrate the brand story into flawless patient experience, linking doctor and retail functions.

Major

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greets customers within 30 seconds.
  • Answers the telephone within 3 rings courteously.
  • Explains required paperwork, tests, products and services.
  • Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully, consulting with Optician, Managing Doctor or Retail Management when necessary.
  • Maintains patience and courtesy with indecisive or difficult customers and patients.
  • Performs work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume.
  • Drives resolution for unsatisfied customers promptly.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of appointment book/scheduling procedures and computer operations.
  • Maintains patient records in an organized manner in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Places contact lens orders, processes shipments, and submits invoices for payment.
  • Operates the POS system, inputting customer/patient and prescription information accurately.
  • Collects payments following company security procedures and retains proper change for various transactions, including credit cards, layaways, discounts, insurance and coupons.
  • Explains “One Hour” processing and expected delivery times to customers.
  • Maintains store appearance and ensures displays follow company guidelines.
  • Ensures a safe working environment for associates and patients.
  • Responds quickly to changes in store promotions and communicates them to staff.
Retail
  • Demonstrates product knowledge and accurately describes features and benefits of various lenses and frames.
  • Assists customers in selecting frames and lenses that suit their vision, lifestyle and budget.
Doctor’s Office
  • Performs pre‑examination testing accurately, explaining measurements and answering questions.
  • Provides coaching and guidance on contact lens care and handling.
  • Maintains and disinfects contact lens inventory and provides clinical support to the Optometrist.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills (internal and external).
  • Knowledge of current fashion trends.
  • Strong communicator and listener.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Familiarity with cash register, computers and calculators.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Sales skills.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of office and store merchandise.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in customer service, retail and/or optical.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
