A “Day in the Life” of the Account Executive
As an Account Executive, your day centers around building a network to open doors and close deals. You’ll spend time connecting with decision-makers at security guard companies, rental yards, traffic control firms, and heavy construction businesses—building on relationships you already have. You’ll research and track activity within secondary markets like campgrounds, universities, nurseries, vineyards, and scrap yards, identifying where your contacts can create inroads.
A typical day includes prospecting warm leads from your rolodex, attending client meetings (virtual or on-site), following up on proposals, and strategizing with internal teams to align solutions to client needs. You’ll manage the full sales cycle with an entrepreneurial mindset, balancing relationship building, pipeline growth, and account expansion.
- Drive revenue growth by leveraging existing contacts within primary verticals (security guard companies, rental yards, traffic control firms, heavy construction) and secondary/niche markets.
- Manage the full sales process: prospecting, qualification, solution alignment, negotiation, and closing.
- Maintain and expand long-term client relationships, ensuring repeat business and referrals.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets, quotas, and KPIs.
- Identify new opportunities through research and market insight, focusing on high-probability prospects where you already have credibility.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding, delivery, and client satisfaction.
- Track and report on sales activities, pipeline health, and market intelligence.
- Stay informed about competitor offerings and industry trends to position solutions effectively.
- Additional responsibilities as the company grows and needs evolve.
- Process Improvement:
Consuming information, generating concise results, and always improving. - Optimism:
Getting energy from getting to the root cause of issues and coming up with creative solutions. - Proactive:
You anticipate issues before they arise and jump in to solve them without being asked. - All-In:
You treat this like a career, not a gig. You want to grow, stretch, and own more over time. - Adaptable:
You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly — and you help bring clarity when they do. - Detail-Obsessed:
You sweat the small stuff so others can focus on the big picture. - Culture-Builder:
You represent our values in how you show up, support others, and keep the engine running smoothly.
