Retail Sales Associate

Job Overview

Cox Communications is looking for a Retail Sales Associate who creates memorable customer experiences and drives sales while making customers feel special. The role involves working evenings, weekends, and holidays, reporting to the Store Manager and collaborating with the Assistant Store Manager and other team specialists.

• Explain and demonstrate product capabilities and offer suggestions based on customers’ wants and needs.
• Meet or exceed targets regarding customer experience, sales, and retention.
• Assist with the opening/closing of a store retail environment.
• Properly handle cash.
• Engage in workshops, special events, and product demos.
• Support fellow sales agents when needed.
• Continuously expand knowledge of current Cox products and competitor offerings through regular training classes.
• May be required to work in other locations within the same geographical area.

Targeted total compensation of $51,072 (base hourly $17.18 + monthly targeted commissions of $1,279) with up to $66,099 for top earners.

Minimum Requirements:

• HS diploma/GED or up to 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for consultative selling.
• Ability to build relationships with a diverse customer base.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast‑paced team environment.
• Mobility within the store for long periods to greet customers and demonstrate products.
• Computer literacy with an aptitude for learning communication products and services.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Strength to lift 25‑50 pounds for inventory tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some college experience in sales, business, or management.
• One year of experience in related fields such as sales, retail sales, or service industry.
• Experience selling wireless/mobile products.
• Fluency in Spanish, written and spoken.
