Job Description
This role is a Marketing Representative responsible for being the link between CNA Surety and agent customers. The representative will operate within the territories of Arizona and New Mexico from a work‑from‑home base and must reside within the territory.
Responsibilities- Develop expert knowledge of all CNA Surety products and services to educate and sell to agency customers, achieving call/sales quotas each week and month.
- Conduct regular sales calls – both virtual and in‑person – to agencies in the assigned territory to generate interest, manage relationships, and grow business retention and new premium.
- Adjust outreach methods to market changes and use technology such as virtual contact tools to deliver effective selling strategies and presentations.
- Educate and train agents on automation services (Portal, bONdLINE, Direct Bill, ePay, etc.) and other product or technology changes.
- Maintain a rigorous schedule of daily/weekly virtual contacts and monthly in‑person visits, ensuring consistent visibility within the territory.
- Contact all agents and prospects as outlined in the Marketing Representative Procedure Manual to drive production, listen for and resolve agent complaints, and capture market intelligence.
- Identify agents with growth opportunities and add them to prospect lists.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including leadership, underwriting, and other teams—to align sales strategies and pursue new business opportunities.
- Monitor industry and legislative activity in Arizona and New Mexico and provide surety bond education through relevant agencies.
- Use reporting tools to track delinquent accounts and support accounts receivable collection within the territory.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales, business development, or a customer‑facing role.
- Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in sales and/or marketing.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills.
- Ability to confidently present, educate, and negotiate with internal and external customers.
- High level of customer service orientation with a drive to exceed sales goals.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and independent multitasking skills.
- Solid knowledge of insurance and surety industry practices.
- Accounting or business‑related experience preferred.
- Analytical and creative problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn other business software.
- Travel as needed within the territory.
