Position SummaryThe purpose of this position is to assist sales representatives in achieving their goals. The candidate must maintain an understanding of distribution channels and key industry leaders and be willing to travel as needed for trade shows, conferences and in‑service events. This role involves up to 75% travel throughout the United States and includes training and supporting customers, as well as assisting sales representatives as required.
Incentive program and goals will be based on developing and sustaining profitable sales growth.
- Assist Sales Reps in making their goals by setting up appointments in their territory
- Compile and forward sales leads to Sales Reps
- Assist in generation of additional sales of AMT products
- Assist in the creation of sales and marketing tools for AMT products
- Perform an in-service when needed by Sales Rep
- Travel as needed and to at least one tradeshow/conference
- Assist with sales documents
- Generate miscellaneous sales reports
- Have product and market knowledge
- Have a positive attitude at all times
- Be professional when speaking with prospective accounts and all employees at AMT
- Be a team player at all times
- General office and other duties as assigned
- 1-2 years of inside sales experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough understanding of needs/analysis selling
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- An understanding of contract administration
- Business acumen with demonstrated leadership abilities
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume, and to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, probability, and statistical inference.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in situations with limited standardization. Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMaintains a valid Driver’s License.
Essential Job FunctionsMental: Must effectively communicate, complete complex number analysis, read and interpret written materials, develop teams to meet and exceed company standards, ensure compliance with policies, respond appropriately to feedback, maintain positive relationships, troubleshoot, and solve problems.
Physical: Must hear and verbally communicate for hours, use computer equipment. Moderate noise level and limited exposure to physical risk.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredKnowledge of modern business communication, office procedures, and methods. Skill to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and facilitate teamwork.
