Responsibilities
- Be alert and attentive while on duty to ensure personal safety and the ability to observe activities, regardless of the working environment.
- Maintain timely and professional communication (verbal, written, radio) with all staff, leadership, and external contacts.
- Practice all safety rules and procedures at the assigned post, as established by Brownstone Security, to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Report designated activities and irregularities by submitting written and/or verbal reports.
- Maintain constant alertness and awareness of surroundings at assigned posts to ensure site safety and security.
- Provide excellent customer service to all employees, visitors, and vendors, serving as a primary point of contact.
- Operate and monitor multiple advanced security systems, including access control & alarm monitoring (e.g., Lenel), visitor management (e.g., Gateworks), CCTV (e.g., Milestone XProtect), and incident management software (e.g., Smartsheet & Perspective).
- Utilize strong computer skills for daily operations, including Windows OS, email management (Outlook and shared mailboxes), and other site-specific software.
- Effectively use various electronic communication systems such as Slack, multi-line IP phones, radio systems, and email in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct thorough interior and exterior patrols, ensuring all access points are secure and identifying any irregularities or safety concerns, including vehicle patrols to off‑site locations.
- Professionally manage visitor and guest access, including pass creation and verification.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all incidents, alarms, and emergencies, ensuring leadership is notified quickly and accurately.
- Produce clear, concise, and accurate written reports for all incidents, activities, and irregularities (Daily Checklists, Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports).
- Proactively identify and report system issues or malfunctions to ensure timely resolution.
- Additional essential duties will be defined in the Post Orders of the specific post for which the security officer is assigned.
- 18+ years of age
- Security Guard Permit as required by state law.
- Documents that establish identity.
- Documents that establish authorization to work in the U.S.
- Listen, understand, summarize, transfer, and retain basic instructions and detailed information.
- Ability to observe and report activity.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures
High School Diploma
Certification Requirements (All)Security Officer License
