Experienced Commercial Door Technician

Overview

Vortex Doors, America’s highest quality and most customer‑centric commercial and industrial door repair company, is seeking a motivated Experienced Commercial Door Technician. At least 4+ years of door industry experience is required.

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of commercial doors, docks, and related hardware.
• Diagnose and conduct routine repairs such as broken springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components.
• Install and configure door hardware, including locks, handles, closers, low‑voltage, and access control systems.
• Ensure all installed doors meet safety and building code regulations and standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining repair processes, and offering solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and installations, and provide required reports.
• Diagnose, identify, and resolve technical issues with doors efficiently.
• Perform quality checks on installations and repairs to meet the company’s quality standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in the commercial door service industry.
• AAADM certified – a plus.
• Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware.
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations involving fractions and reading a tape measure accurately.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols.
• Proficiency with computers and excellent mechanical and technical skills.
• Physically able to move items weighing 50 lbs. or higher.
• Physical ability to continuously lift, bend, climb ladders up to 20 ft., work on knees for extended periods, and operate power tools proficiently.
• Interpersonal skills to relate to customers and solve issues.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any conditions.

• Full‑time shifts available during Vortex business hours of 7:00 AM‑5:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with some overtime and on‑call hours.
