Position: Technician I - Infrastructure

Job Summary

Responsible for reading blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks and safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as rule, conduit bender, Chicago Benders, dual trigger bandsaws and hydraulic benders 1 1/2” – 4”.
  • Build closets – mount and install backboards; install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Fabricate and install rigid, aluminum, E.M.T., plasti‑bond, and PVC conduit.
  • Use mechanical and hydraulic benders, fabricate and install conduit supports.
  • Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems.
  • Assume responsibility for effective performance of crew; provide training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete project.
  • Complete IES paperwork accurately and on time: timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, etc.
  • Adhere to and participate in all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Self‑motivated, positive, professional, and able to create, develop, and implement project process improvements.
  • Proficient in climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions.
  • Promote company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and partners.
  • Act as company liaison with customer representatives.
  • Problem‑solving skills, critical thinking, effective reading, writing, and oral presentation skills.
  • Work at heights, off ladder, in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lb, move up to 75 lb.
  • Travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Regular attendance mandatory.
Tools
  • Screwdrivers (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips with belt sheath, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves.
Education, Certification, License, and Skills
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 0–2 years of experience as an electrician or related technical field; demonstrate ability to supervise others.
  • Proficient with listed tools.
  • Skill to interpret blueprints, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
  • Know universal communications color codes.
  • Meet company minimum driving standards.
