This recruitment is open for two (2) weeks and closes on July 2, 2026.
Pay Grade: 111
Hourly Salary Range: $30.14 to $44.47
The successful candidate's placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role.

DESCRIPTION
This position installs, maintains, repairs, updates timing and ensures proper operations of a variety of traffic signals, such as traffic lights and school flashers, including repairing or replacing signal heads, checking timing controls and maintaining records and reports of work completed.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
* Provides functional and technical guidance and training to lower-level staff.
* Maintains logs and records of work performed.
* Troubleshoots and repairs traffic signal systems, including electronic and electrical components.
* Repairs or replaces signal poles, traffic signals, streetlights, and other traffic control devices.
* Performs regular maintenance on traffic signal systems and streetlight systems.
* Assists in wiring new intersections.
* May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
* Will be required to participate in stand-by rotations.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in traffic signal construction or lighting system maintenance.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant's full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
Associate or vocational/technical school degree in Electrical Technology.
The term "equivalent" means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal one-year increments for college-level education (2 additional years for an associate degree and 4 additional years for a bachelor's degree).
Professional Licensure and/or
Certifications:
* Valid driver's license
* International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician
* International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Roadway Lighting Technician I
* International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Certification Traffic Signal Technician II, obtain within six (6) months of hire
* Electronics in Traffic Signal Controls or Electrical Technician Certificate, obtain within 18 months of hire
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
