Concrete Carpenter - $28-35/hr. Job Description
This role involves performing concrete carpentry on commercial and industrial construction projects, including high-rise buildings, battery storage facilities, advanced manufacturing sites, and other large-scale structures. You will pour, form, and finish concrete, work with MEVA and gang form systems, and support a self-perform concrete team on long-term projects across the valley.
Responsibilities- Pour concrete for foundations, walls, slabs, and other structural elements according to project specifications.
- Set up and install MEVA and other concrete form systems to create accurate and stable formwork.
- Work with gang form concrete systems to support large-scale pours and structural assemblies.
- Finish concrete surfaces to the required texture, level, and appearance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Dismantle and remove scaffolding and formwork safely once concrete has cured.
- Move, unload, and set materials such as concrete forms, tools, and equipment around the job site.
- Handle shovel work, mortar, grout, and concrete between wheelbarrows and placement areas as needed.
- Perform general site clean‑up, including removing debris, organizing materials, and maintaining a safe work area.
- Lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more throughout the workday.
- Follow safety procedures and site protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Adapt to different job sites across the valley and support new projects as they begin.
- 5+ years of experience as a concrete carpenter working on commercial or industrial projects.
- Hands‑on experience with concrete forms and concrete structures.
- Experience with MEVA concrete forms or similar formwork systems.
- Experience with gang form concrete systems.
- Proficiency in concrete finishing, including leveling, smoothing, and texturing surfaces.
- Demonstrated ability to perform concrete pours safely and efficiently.
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various job sites across the valley.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of concrete carpentry experience preferred.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Experience working on high‑rise, industrial, or advanced manufacturing projects.
- Ability to read and follow construction plans and instructions.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability.
- Comfort working in outdoor environments and at varying heights when required.
You will work on multiple job sites across the valley, including downtown Phoenix high‑rise projects and large facilities such as a professional practice complex in North Scottsdale. Typical start times are between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., with standard 8‑hour workdays and approximately 10% overtime. The work is primarily outdoors on active construction sites and involves physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and working with concrete, forms, and scaffolding.
You must be flexible and willing to commute to different job locations as new projects begin, and you will work as part of a field crew in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment.
Permanent position based out of Tempe, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $60,174.00 – $76,960.00 per year.
