Water Distribution Operator - Prescott Valley, AZ

Jacob’s Water Distribution Operator position is located in Prescott Valley, AZ. The applicant will work within the company’s operations and maintenance services, focusing on providing safe and reliable water distribution for municipal clients.

• Perform field service duties such as repairs on water lines ranging from 3/4" to 24" in size, meter inspections, maintenance, and customer service tasks.
• Use or be trained to use computers or tablets for job order processing.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Work well in a team setting.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Investigate unusual water meter readings and customer complaints regarding high water bills, water taste/odor, and pressure issues. Re-read meters as necessary, resolve issues, or request follow‑up work orders.
• Report inoperative or damaged water meters, bypassed meters, and related problems.
• Prepare service requests as required.
• Perform additional duties as necessary.
• Use hand tools proficiently (pipe wrenches, poly cutters, copper cutters, channel locks, crescent wrenches).
• Operate excavation equipment such as backhoes and excavators, or be willing to train.

• Positive attitude and ability to contribute to team success.
• Availability for after‑hours and emergency call‑outs / leaks.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to drive company vehicles and have a clear driving record.
• Ability to perform continuous physical labor.
• Willingness to operate excavation equipment such as backhoes and excavators, or to receive training.

Base salary range for this position is $39,520.00 to $47,840.00, paid hourly based on hours worked. Individual pay within the range is determined by location, experience, skills, and relevant education or training.
