ABM Industries is seeking a Test Technician II to join our Electrical Power Services team in Tempe, Arizona. This position is responsible for performing inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning activities on electrical power distribution equipment across commercial, industrial, government, data center, semiconductor, utility, and mission-critical facilities. The Test Technician II will perform field testing and maintenance of electrical equipment including breakers, transformers, protective devices, substations, and medium-voltage systems while maintaining strict adherence to OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards.

This role requires a technician capable of working independently on routine testing assignments while supporting customers throughout Arizona and occasional projects throughout the western United States. The ideal candidate will possess NETA II certification or equivalent experience and demonstrate a strong foundation in electrical testing and power system maintenance.  Perform acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning testing on electrical power distribution equipment.
 Conduct testing and maintenance of:
 Low- and medium-voltage switch gear
 Circuit breakers
 Power and distribution transformers
 Medium-voltage and low-voltage cable systems
 Protective relays
 Substation equipment
 Battery systems
 Grounding systems
 Automatic transfer switches
 Perform substation testing and electrical system diagnostics.
 Collect and coordinate transformer oil sampling and related testing activities.
 Analyze test results and identify abnormal conditions requiring corrective action.
 Prepare and complete PowerDB reports and other required testing documentation.
 Read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
 Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and company safety procedures.
 Complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-job safety planning activities.
 Communicate technical findings and recommendations to project managers, supervisors, and customers.
 Support outage work, emergency response assignments, and scheduled shutdowns as required.
 Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians.

  Daily travel within approximately a 50-mile radius of the Tempe office.
  Estimated travel requirement of 10–15%, depending on project assignments.
