Job Description

Structured Cabling / Low Voltage Technician, Tempe, AZ

We are seeking a Structured Cabling Technician to install, maintain, test, and repair voice, data, video, and fiber-optic cabling systems at customer locations. This is a hands-on, field-based position working under the direction of a Lead Technician.

Pay: $23-$30 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Full-time; occasional evenings, weekends, overtime, and on-call work may be required

Travel: Daily travel to customer sites, with occasional out-of-town assignments

Responsibilities
  • Install Category 3, Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, and fiber-optic cabling systems
  • Pull, route, dress, label, terminate, and test cables to industry standards
  • Install outlets, connectors, grounding infrastructure, and fire stopping
  • Test and troubleshoot copper and single-mode/multi-mode fiber
  • Perform copper and fiber splicing, including mechanical and fusion splicing
  • Identify active circuits and remove abandoned cabling
  • Follow ANSI, EIA/TIA, BICSI, NEC, and local standards
  • Maintain a safe work environment and use required personal protective equipment
  • Provide professional service at customer locations
Qualifications
  • At least one year of structured cabling or low-voltage experience
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN systems and cabling standards
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel to job sites and work occasional extended hours
  • Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds
